The current Planning Scheme for the entire Gympie Region was first adopted by the Gympie Regional Council on 1st July 2013 and compiled under now superseded state planning legislation. There have been concerns with aspects of this 2013 Planning Scheme since introduction, but then, all planning schemes require ongoing monitoring and refinement.
Gympie Regional Council is about to place draft amendments to the latest version of the 2013 Gympie Planning Scheme on public display from 8th July 2019 to 2nd August 2019. During this period any members of the public can lodge submissions in support or objection to the proposed amendments. It is our opinion that there are proposed amendments that should be supported, proposed amendments that should be challenged and proposed amendments that could be made ever better.
